In this workshop, the concept of Radical Dramaturgy is addressed, connecting artistic action and reflection through Afro-Brazilian Expressions. A version of “The legend of Maculelê,” created by Viviane Juguero, serves as a starting point to experience diverse Afro-Brazilian cultural elements. The workshop promotes creating a non-verbal performance, full of movements, percussion, songs, and dance, that question the hegemonic narratives and empower groups with considerably fewer opportunities to express their cultures and share their viewpoints. It is a fun and thoughtful experience that promotes reflection and action through artistic creation.
